TEPHINET Publishes E-Learning Module on Entomology

Field epidemiologists and other public health professionals interested in learning about entomology have a new resource in TEPHINET's new entomology e-learning module. The module as a whole will comprise six units:

Unit 1: Introduction to Public Health Entomology
Unit 2: Viral Vector-Borne Diseases
Unit 3: Parasitic Vector-Borne Diseases
Unit 4: Entomological Surveillance of Aedes
Unit 5: Vector Control for Aedes
Unit 6: Insecticide Resistance

The second unit (Lessons Learned from the Zika Outbreak 2015-2016), comprised of two lessons, of TEPHINET's online training module on Zika and birth defects is available now at this link

Available Now: First Unit of TEPHINET Zika Curriculum (Introduction to Birth Defects)

The first unit of TEPHINET's online training module on Zika and birth defects, comprised of three lessons, is available now at this link. Units 2-6 are forthcoming. The current lessons are available in English, but all units will eventually become available in Spanish. New Classes Added to TEPHINET Learning Center

Last month, three new classes were added to the TEPHINET Learning Center: "Introduction to case definitions," "Creating case definitions," and "Creating data tables for surveillance and epidemiology."
