INTRODUCTION
Photographs have the power to convey distinct and compelling messages; with a single click, the photographer can capture a fleeting emotion or unique moment in time. Memorable photographs have the ability to increase the visual impact of the information you wish to communicate. These photographs serve as valuable evidence of FETP activities and can help:

  • FETPs gain greater visibility
  • Expand research communication strategies
  • Expand partner knowledge of the work of epidemiologists
  • Stimulate the exchange of experiences among field epidemiology professionals

To this end, TEPHINET and CDC will co-host a photo contest during the 2018 FETP International Night at the 67th Annual EIS Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to help promote FETP activities in a visually compelling way.

PURPOSE
To highlight the work of field epidemiology training programs (FETPs) globally and to encourage the FETP family to visually document their contributions to improving global health through disease prevention, detection and rapid response activities.

Current trainees/fellows and those graduating after January 1, 2017, from field-based training programs in applied epidemiology, laboratory, and public health practice, who have submitted abstracts for 2018 FETP International Night, are eligible to submit photographs for the contest.
